This hotel is an authentic Sevillan palace house dating from the 16th century and was carefully restored preserving its charm and character.

This establishment is full of history and the restoration has closely respected the original distribution and detail of this palace house. The establishment has an air of romance and the rooms all have full en suite bathrooms. It is an absolute pleasure to stay here, surrounded by the rich Andalusian heritage. You can stroll through the seductive streets of the Andalusian capital and mix and mingle with the people.

The hotel is situated right in the centre of the town, minutes away from the main cultural attractions and artistic places.

Hotel information

This hotel lies in the historic Jewish quarter of Seville’s central Santa Cruz district, and dates back to the 16th century. Nowadays it provides fine accommodation for those exploring the Andalusian capital.

The building was originally built in 1530 as a house for Señor Alonso de Villafranca, the former butler of the Marquis of Tarifa. The Marquis himself also stayed many times, as he also owned the adjacent Casa de Pilatos - now a tourist attraction. Today the hotel offers typical Sevillian hospitality.

On-site parking is available on a first-come-first-served basis. When full, guests can make use of a nearby car park (fees apply).

Food & beverage

The hotel offers a traditional buffet style breakfast and also has a tapas and snack service.

For groups of more than 6 people, you can organise lunches and dinners upon request.

The hotel personnel will be able to advise you as to good restaurants in the area which serve Sevillan cuisine.

The restaurant will be closed until the beginning of 2009.

Room information

The rooms are divided into four categories, although each one is architecturally distinct and has been given a special touch in terms of decoration. Some of the rooms have an interior patio, others have a private terrace and others are duplexes.

All of the rooms are exterior with windows that open out to the typical Sevillan interior patio of the house. Such patios are ideal to combat the noise of the street and the heat of summer and are a typical popular architectural feature of North Africa and the South of Spain.

Area information

This hotel is situated in the historic centre of Seville, only a few minutes away from the main cultural attractions of the city. From the hotel you can easily get to the Cathedral, the Casa Pilatos (whose history is intimately linked to that of the hotel), the Reales Alcázares, the Archivo de Indias, the Santa Cruz district, Maria Luisa park and many other charming spots.

Staff were always helpful and friendly. The hotel room was large and well equiped. Beautiful. Location great - 5 minute walk to great tapas bars. 10 minutes to the sites.

Fantastic Hotel with a really great staff. They figured out (from passports) that it was my birthday and surprised us with a bottle of champagne! Great breakfast included in price.

Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good location.

Hotel and staff really great, but the booking.com website's information about the hotel's 'Activities' is VERY misleading - none of the activities were available at the hotel - all a few kms away (taxi ride) in another hotel. Disappointing, as I'd cancelled a cheaper hotel with a wealth of facilities on this basis. Overpriced considering none of these facilities were there - not a five star hotel.

hotel was very pleasant, nicely decorated, good breakfast and time was good not to press guests to wake up too early. Served even after hours. nice and pleasant staff.

het is een prachtig gebouw

de badkamer is niet echt aangepast aan de noden van modern comfort en de vermelding op hun website dat er kan gezwommen worden betekent dat je na een wandeling van 10 minuten in een club kan gaan zwemmen

Très bel hotel, plein de charme, très calme. Chambre (suite avec Jacuzzi) très agréable. Service attentionné. Séjour quai parfait.

Un tout petit peu viellot (mais c'est aussi ce qui fait son charme), clim' un peu bruyante, penture défraichie...
